BACKGROUND
Announcement was made for the release of “Monster Hunter Now,” a very first location-based game for smartphones from the Monster Hunter series jointly created by Niantic, the creator of Pokemon Go and Capcom.
WHAT WE INVENTED
We created the teaser movie for the purpose of media announcement introducing Rathalos on the riverbed in Tokyo with reality and great impact and revealing the first game screen and the title of the game. On the day of the release, it secured the No. 1 spot in the ranking of Japanese Twitter trends and Monster Hunter Now related keywords entered in 8 trends simultaneously creating a social buzz. In the game, players entering the stage of the Monster Hunter world transformed from the real world, take on the challenge to hunt giant monsters and collect materials to strengthen their weapons. Using tapping and flicking motions unique to smartphones, instinctive and simple control is the characteristic of the game allowing play using just one hand. One battle is 75 seconds maximum and is designed for casual fun during spare time.
