Awards
DETAIL
The Google “[Ado] Yoru no Pierrot 360° MV,” planned and produced by ENJIN TOKYO, has won the 2022 Good Design Award.
Produced as part of Google’s new project “I DISPLAY music.”, this work utilizes YouTube’s 360-degree video function to create an immersive music video where fan art scattered in all directions can be viewed from any angle. When viewed via the YouTube app on a smartphone, users can enjoy the sensation of stepping inside the “Yoru no Pierrot” music video. (High-resolution setting recommended)
To highlight the appeal of artist Ado, who inspires a vast amount of User Generated Content (UGC), we issued an open call for illustrations related to “Yoru no Pierrot” to appear in the video as “Adoart” (fan art). This marks the first time an official music video has been created using Adoart, making it the first collaborative work made together with fans.

Judges’ Comments
This music video is truly befitting the promotion of a muse born of this era. Precisely because the artist is closely linked to the culture of derivative works, the project is grounded in a respect for all creators of such works—a quality that feels incredibly genuine and appealing. While simply collecting data is nothing new, the decision to elevate it into a fully immersive 360-degree experience set in “Neo Shibuya” garnered high praise. The somewhat decadent space, which runs the risk of feeling cliché, is masterfully handled; the direction, which involves continuously following the back of a lone girl, heightens the immersion beautifully.
