DeNA imase｜FRIENDS!!! – Pococha x Yamaha “Sessions without boarders”

New generation artist, imase wrote a song “FRIENDS!!!” for a collaboration project with Pococha and Yamaha. A largest scale ever of 120 members consisting of musicians and live music streamers together, made an unprecedented attempt to perform the song in a live session. With the concept of, “when performing together, music is even more joyful,” musicians recruited from the general public totaled 14 different instruments including guitar, bass, drums and piano as well as strings and brass. From Aomori prefecture in northern Japan to Kumamoto prefecture in the south, from kids with merely a year and a half of piano experience to professional musicians, many performers gathered regardless of music experience, music genre and age generation for an amazing performance that seemed to embody the idea that “power of music transcends barriers.” Variety of artists from different genre of music and generation assembled together such as pianist of classical music, rock drummer, jazz sax player and pops singer. Fashion and performance styles also varied, truly symbolizing diversity in music. Especially, the sight of a formation that would be unthinkable in a normal live performance such as having more than five drummers, bassist and guitarist all resonating together is truly overwhelming. Members with different backgrounds as they performed one music embodied the power of diversity.
