BACKGROUND

Currently, securing human resources is a major challenge in the food service industry and Mos Burger is not an exception. In order to make the working environment at Mos Burger even more attractive, we set up the “MOS RECORDS” project. The plan is to revitalize the stores and improve engagement throughout the chain stores by showing staffs aiming to become artists work with enthusiasm and vitality.

WHAT WE INVENTED

MOS RECORDS is a project to discover, support and co-create the next generation of artists and creators by holding auditions for casts (part time workers) at Mos Burger stores nationwide. To people chosen for best performance, the project provides support to their debut and sets opportunities to present their works to help them expand their potential. Simultaneously, by making the “workplace” of Mos Burger a “place to make dreams come true,” the project aims to provide an attractive reason for working at Mos Burger which will revitalize the stores and increase engagement throughout the chain stores and as a result solve the “labor shortage” challenge that is common to the food service industry.

RESULT

The first audition acquired 100 applicants and the number of applicants to the recruitment site increased approximately 19.6% in the first half of year 2024 (April to September) and among the teens and the twenties by 21.6% both compared to the previous year. “Lui” was selected as the best performer and her debut single “Hitorijanai” (You’re Not Alone) was released in September. She appeared on the in-store radio program which was broadcasted at some Mos Buerger stores last spring.
She also performed in “kitchen live,” an original music content produced by the label with the debut artist performing in the Mos Burger kitchen*. Unique sense of intensity is produced in the kitchen where normally the cast is cooking rather than performing as an artist.

*The singing and the performance are held in a kitchen used for training purpose and not at an actual in-store kitchen.
